Indian tourists stuck in Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Uzbekistan ask government for help

With the novel coronavirus outbreak, the flights are getting cancelled leaving Indian citizens stuck at the airports of Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Uzbekistan. These people are asking for help from the government.

he total number of novel coronavirus-positive cases in India has risen to 153. Three fatalities have also been registered. Italy has lost 2,500 people to Covid-19 and these numbers don’t seem to be slowing down. The novel coronavirus has impacted all forms of livelihood. Countries like Spain and Italy are on lockdown. People are practising self-quarantine in an attempt to slow the spread of the novel virus.
To also put a halt on the increasing number of cases, governments of various countries, including India, has put a ban on people entering their country from abroad. According to a PTI report, India has banned the entry of people flying in from Europe, Turkey and the UK from March 18 to 31. People on vacation or business tours outside the country are currently stuck on foreign lands.
Reports of a lot of passengers being stuck at the Bali airport are doing the rounds on Twitter. One user shared pictures from the Bali airport and wrote, "150 plus Indians stuck at Bali airport. Many more in Bali, no help from the Indonesian government, no support from Air Asia. And other flight tickets are too expensive #helpneeded #indiansstuckatbaliairport," and he tagged Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in his tweet.
Another user, Monika Jain, also shared pictures from the Bali airport and wrote, "Around 150 plus Indians stuck at Bali airport, many more stuck in Bali. No help at all."

Twitter user Vicky Jain, who is one of the people stuck in Bali, tweeted, "Dear Modi Ji, We, approximately 25 Indian got stuck in Bali, Indonesia. Please take this on priority and revert since we can’t stay here for around 15 days. We hope you will understand the situation."
Things are quite similar in Kuala Lumpur as well. Twitter user Shiraj Khanna posted about his parents being stuck at the Kuala Lumpur airport along with 75 other Indian citizens. He wrote, "Please help. Parents stuck at Kuala Lumpur airport. Not allowed to leave the airport and enter the city. No food, no medicines. Diabetes with high blood pressure and father has a spinal condition. 75 plus Indians stranded. Evacuate."
Another report by IANS suggests around 50 Indians are stuck in Uzbekistan, out of which 39 are from Maharastra and the remaining from Gujarat. The report read that these tourists, who had gone on a trip to Uzbekistan, were scheduled to fly back on March 18. But the return flight was cancelled by Uzbekistan Airways at the very last minute due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. The tourists video-called Maharastra Minister Jayant Patil and asked him for help.
Due to the novel coronavirus spread, a lot of flights have been cancelled leaving people stranded on foreign land or at the airports without proper amenities. Some of these people have diabetes and need medication, others are also in a deep state of distress and are asking for the governmnet to help them.

Kennedy granddaughter, great-grandson missing in Chesapeake Bay
